Set in a world where magic is dying, and ruled by a monarchy which is working to opress them, Children of Blood and Bone tells story of two girls, one peasent and one Princess. But both with a same goal, to bring the magic back to the lands of Orisha, and restore Maji to their former glory.
But the path to such success is not easy, with royals, forever hunting them. Amari, the pricess steals a scroll that was one of the key to bring the magic back. Magic for the royals is believed to be a curse. The reason why the former family of the king of Orisha died. While, Inan the prince believe in this, he is having his own doubts since he came in contact with Zelie, the main protagonist of this story. She is a reaper, like her mother was, and with the help of Amari, the princess and sister of Inan, and Tzain, Zelie’s older brother trying to bring magic back so that they can fight against the oppression of the king.
Inan troubled over his visions and the secret he carries, is now torn between his heart and duty.
This story is a unique one, and also a debut novel of the author. For me, personally, I love the character development, the world building, the overall feel of the story. The plot was an interesting one, and characters are well written. You will find yourself getting immerse into this world and will find it engaging from the first to the last word.

There is never a dull moment when it comes to this book.
