Five Point Someone
Author: Chetan Bhagat
Genre: Drama
Traits: Student Life, Complicacies
The first book of Chetan Bhagat, also the book on which the famous movie '3 Idiots' is somewhat based, is a beautifully written story by the Indian author in very simple words. The words used are extremely simple, even simpler than what one might converse in normally, thusly making it easy for everyone to understand and read.
The story revolves around three college friends in IIT Delhi and how their hostel/college life plays out since freshman years till the very end. How the three friends are different from each other; orientated with different dogmas and beliefs, occupied with different fears and ways of lifestyle, the challenges they faced and the fun they enjoyed; was enthusiastically portrayed in this book. How their constantly deteriorating grades and the constantly upheaving pressure on their minds shape them was very nicely shown, more so made felt. Every student, even who was once, will surely feel a connection to this storyline.
The writing might throw some readers away given the very very simplistic use of words and sentences, which is so very easy-on-the-play, and not something that truly showcases what beauty literature can hold, or quite mentally stimulating so, arousing the fetch for literature. This book focuses on the entertainment part and the story more than the art of language.
