The Seven Year Slip
Author: Ashley Poston
Language: English
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Traits: Magical realism, time slip, forced proximity
The book is just unputdownable. It's an endearing tale of Clementine west who navigates through grief, and is still coming to terms with the loss of her aunt, who passed six months back. She has moved to her aunt's apartment, which her aunt claimed to be magical.
Clementine, is tired, lost and has given up on her dating life and is waiting for the apartment to work it's magic on her! And then something happens and she ends up meeting Iwan, who seems to be just perfect, the one she was looking for. The only problem being, that he exists in past, seven years to be exact.
I know for sure I am definitely gonna re read this one soon. My heart melted like butter on sweet pancakes, and lemon pies that Iwan baked, and every time he called her 'lemon' . I swooned over this one, the book is just perfect. Definitely give it a read.
Also I loved how the author slipped in a note or two about mental health without being preachy. I loved her aunt's larger than life persona, Iwan's excitement and love for food, and Clementine's fighting spirit for her own happiness. Her self discovery and character arc is to look out for.
Any romance enthusiast looking for a good rom com, look no further!
