The Great Gatsby is a small American story formed exquisitely by F Scott Fitzgerald who made the story come alive like nothing else with his choice of words and tags around chivalry. Written in 1925 and set in the Jazz Age of Long Island, near New York City, the story essentially revolves around the narrator Nick's interaction, association and exchange between his mysterious and affluent neighbour, Jay Gatsby. The story also manifests for a major portion, the intense desire of Gatsby to reunite with his old lover, who is now married to another man. Extreme situations follow when in a rather equivocal situation at about 80% into the book, Daisy, Gatsby's lover and Nick's cousin, does something so unpredictable and unbelievable that brings a whole new age of seriousness into the plot.

Personally, occupied with science fiction themes and psychological suspense thrillers too, I am not a big fan of romantic drama, or adventurous drama as such, however, the writing style is very captivating, as the writer ensured the suspense remains intact with every word he used. This book has since been my favourite read of all times for the very same reason. I recommend this book to everyone who is an avid reader. Although, this might seem a little off-bound for new readers. If you read frequently and haven't checked this out, you definitely must!
